Springfield Armor News Release

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Springfield Armor and Kmart have collaborated to present their annual Toy Drive with donations benefitting the Baystate Children's Hospital.

"The Armor are proud to partner with Kmart for this annual heart-warming campaign," said Springfield Armor president Alex Schwerin. "To be able to bring joy to these children through our program is what the 'season of giving' is all about and we hope everyone enjoys a safe and happy holiday season."

Fans who bring an unwrapped toy to the Kmart at 1277 Liberty Street in Springfield or any Springfield Armor game before December 15 will receive a free ticket voucher to the Armor's Season of Giving game on December 21. The toys will be presented to the children of the Baystate Children's Hospital on Monday, December 16 by the Armor players and coaches.

"It's a welcomed partnership between the Armor and Kmart," said Bob Lanks, general manager of the Liberty Street Kmart. "Our employees as well as our entire organization have great moral toward the event and the community as a whole. If we can make just one child smile, the event was a success."

The Armor will return to action Friday night at 7:00 p.m. when they travel to Maine for the second of three straight meetings between the two teams. Springfield will then return home Saturday, December 14 to host the Red Claws, NBA Development League affiliate of the Boston Celtics, at 7:00 p.m. inside the MassMutual Center.
