San Jose Earthquakes News Release
Earthquakes' midfielders Anibal Godoy and Alberto Quintero have been called into the Panamanian National team camp ahead of the 2017 Copa CentroAmericana. The tournament will be held from Jan. 13-22 in Panama.
Godoy and Quintero recently appeared for Los Canaleros in November's 2018 FIFA World Qualifiers. Godoy, 26, starred in both matches for Panama, starting and playing 54 minutes against Honduras before coming on as a second half substitute against Mexico in the 82nd minute. Quintero, 28, started and played 90 minutes in both matches.
The team will report to the famous Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City on December 26 for five days of training.
The Copa Centroamericana is the championship for the region's national teams and also serves as a CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifying competition. In Panama's previous Copa Centroamericana appearance in 2014, Quintero started in all three matches, helping Los Canaleros earn a third-place finish.
