Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans are proud to announce details of the team's second annual "Salute to the Troops Night". On Sunday, November 7th, members of the various military services will be on hand with the help of Operation Tribute to Freedom. Along with the help of the Amerks, Operation Tribute to Freedom has donated tickets to soldiers who have recently returned from overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Navy, Army and Marines will be also be in attendance and will be partaking in events throughout the evening as Rochester hosts the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 5:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena. The Amerks have also set up a Care-Package Donation Table and will be encouraging fans to bring requested items and donations to create care packages to send to the troops overseas. With the holiday's right around the corner, these care packages will help the troops feel at home while they are away from their families and friends. A little goes a long way and any donation is greatly appreciated. Further, the Patriot Guard Riders of New York will be present to help honor those currently serving, as well as veterans.

As part of the theme of the night, the Amerks will honor local soldiers through an in-game tribute. All local soldiers are encouraged to send pictures of them serving our country to be a part of this special tribute. Please submit all photos to Caitlin Davis via email at cdavis@amerks.com by Friday, November 5th to participate in this special recognition.

Fans can be a part of Rochester's "Salute to the Troops Night" by purchasing tickets at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations and all Wal-Mart outlets, or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000 or the Amerks Office at (585) 454-5335. Fans can also go online to amerks.com or ticketmaster.com. Help us honor those who serve or have served our country.
