Amerks Recall Defenseman Corey Fienhage from Gwinnett

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the Amerks have recalled defenseman Corey Fienhage from the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.

Fienhage, 22, has appeared in 36 games with Gwinnett this season, recording six points (1+5), 34 penalty minutes and a +14 rating. During the 2011-12 season, Fienhage played in 20 games with the Amerks, collecting four assists and 20 penalty minutes. He also played in 32 games last year for Gwinnett, where he registered 13 points (5+8) and 28 penalty minutes.

In 2010-11, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Fienhage registered 14 points (4+10) in 70 games with Kamloops of the Western Hockey League (WHL) before making his AHL debut with the Portland Pirates, appearing in four regular season games and six playoff contests. Fienhage, who also played two seasons at the University of North Dakota, was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (81st overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
