(Rochester, NY) --- Rochester Americans General Manager Randy Sexton announced today that the team has signed forward Yannick Veilleux to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

Veilleux joins the Amerks after splitting last season between the Laval Rocket (AHL) and Brampton Beast (ECHL). The 25-year-old left winger recorded seven points (3+4) in 52 games with the Rocket in addition to 78 penalty minutes. He also added three assists in three contests with the Beast.

In his AHL career, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward has notched 63 points (28+35) and 304 penalty minutes in 253 games with Laval, St. John's, Chicago and Peoria.

Additionally, the St-Hippolyte, Quebec City, native has collected 53 points (19+34) in 76 career ECHL contests with the Brampton and Kalamazoo Wings.

Veilleux was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
