Amerks Notes: Rochester (3-18-0-2, 8 points) enters the contest coming off a 4-1 loss to the Iowa Chops Friday night at The Blue Cross Arena. Veteran forward Janis Sprukts scored Rochester's lone goal as the Amerks dropped their third straight contest. First-year forward Michal Repik collected an assist Friday night to extend his point streak to four games (2+3) and his point total to 14. Repik currently leads the Amerks in all offensive categories with six goals, eight assists and 14 points, and has appeared in all 23 games thus far for Rochester. He presently ranks 19th in scoring among all American Hockey League rookies. Rookie defenseman Jason Garrison remains Rochester's top scoring defenseman with 10 points (2+8) overall, which ties him for second best on the team. Michael Duco presently ranks 11th in the league and first on the team with 83 penalty minutes (PIM).
Welcome Back!: Amerks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Florida Panthers have reassigned forwards Kenndal McArdle and Janis Sprukts back to Rochester. McArdle returns after his first ever National Hockey League recall which saw him appear in three games with the Panthers. The 22-year-old logged 5:27 of ice in his NHL debut in Florida's 5-3 win over the Washington Capitals on December 2nd. Sprukts returns after a brief one-game stint with the Panthers, dressing in Florida's 4-0 loss to the Boston Bruins last night, after receiving his first recall of the season early Saturday morning.
