Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Globe Life, are proud to announce the signing of forward Kevin Sundher to a contract for the 2018-2019 season.
Sundher joins the Americans after spending the last couple of seasons with Olomouc HC in the Czech league. Prior to that, he had stops in the ECHL with Reading and Elmira. He has 139 games in the American Hockey League, the majority with the Rochester Americans, where he played from 2012 to 2015.
The former 2010 third round draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres will turn 27 years old in January. He played his junior hockey with the Chilliwack Bruins for parts of four seasons, from 2008 to 2011. He also had stops with Victoria and the Brandon Wheat Kings, where he was a teammate of Eric Roy in 2012.
His best numbers as a professional came with Rochester during the 2013-2014 season, where he had 20 points in 60 games.
"We're looking to increase our team speed this season," said Allen Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "Kevin can really skate. He'll be a solid addition to our lineup."
The Allen Americans open their tenth training camp this October. The Americans have several big announcements still to come in line with the 10th Anniversary Season including the promotional schedule coming soon.
