Americans Open Round 2 of the Kelly Cup Playoffs on Friday at Home

Allen, Texas - The two-time ECHL Kelly Cup Champion Allen Americans open Round 2 of the playoffs this week at Allen Event Center with tickets on sale NOW.
The Americans advanced to Round 2 after a five-game series win over the Utah Grizzlies, that included a sweep in West Valley City last week.
Allen will face the Colorado Eagles in the next round of the playoffs, set to begin this weekend, with prime home dates on Friday and Saturday night which should mean a packed house and a sea of red.
"The team worked extremely hard to beat Utah in five games," said Americans Owner Jack Gulati. "Facing Colorado in Round 2 is going to be a much tougher series, but I know the boys can do it. It's our destiny."
The Americans faced Colorado two times during the regular season, with Colorado winning two close games. There is a lot of history between the two clubs with both being former members of the now defunct Central Hockey League and both winning the Presidents' Cup Championship in the CHL. Chad Costello is a former MVP of the ECHL while with the Eagles. Colorado also has three former Americans players on their roster, Daryl Bootland, Matt Register and Casey Pierro-Zabotel, with Pierro-Zabotel and Register both a part of last year's ECHL Championship team.
