Americans Open Alaskan Adventure Tonight

February 10, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Allen Americans News Release

Anchorage, Alaska - The Allen Americans open a three-game series against the Alaska Aces tonight at 10:15 pm CST from the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage.

The Americans have won three straight games overall, but look to end a two-game road skid tonight in Alaska. This is the first ever meeting between the Americans and the Aces. Alaska is in fourth place overall in the ECHL West Division, one point ahead of the fifth place Rapid City Rush. Allen is 12-6-1-0 against the West Division this season.

The Americans will have a new look lineup this week, after the club traded forward Jonathan Parker and the rights to defenseman Justin Baker to the Brampton Beast in exchange for defenseman Reggie Traccitto. Traccitto, in 37 games with Brampton, had eight goals and five assists for 13 points. Vincent Arseneau made the trip to Alaska with the Americans, and is expected to make his return to the lineup tonight. Allen also welcomes back forward Spencer Asuchak, who was assigned to Allen by the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on Tuesday. Asuchak, in 30 games last season for Allen, had 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points, and gives the Americans a much needed big body up front, as well as an added scoring punch.

"With Arseneau and Asuchak, we get two physical guys up front that score goals," said Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "We now have three lines that can score on any shift. Reggie Traccitto brings a big shot from the point with the bonus of toughness. This is a lineup that should expect to win every night."

The Americans look to go a season-high 13 games over .500 with a win tonight in Alaska. The puck drops at 10:15 pm CST with the pregame show airing at 9:45 pm. You can watch tonight's game at The Franchise Grill & Bar in Plano or 5th Street Pizza in Allen.

The Americans return home on Saturday, February 27th against the Wichita Thunder, after the longest road trip of the season, for the 7th annual Police vs. Fire Charity Hockey Game.
