'Americans Fight Cancer' Weekend February 11-13

ALLEN, Texas- The Allen Americans have partnered with the American Cancer Society- Relay For Life for the weekend of February 11-13.
The Americans take on the Odessa Jackalopes at 7:30 PM on the 11th, and 7:00 PM on the 12th, followed by a Sunday afternoon matchup with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 2:00 PM on February 13th.
"Teaming up with the American Cancer Society is something we find to be very important, because Cancer is something that has touched just about everyone's life one way or another," Americans Community Relations Director Kaitlin White said. "Relay For Life Allen is an outstanding organization which does great work in Collin County, and we are very pleased to work together for such a great cause."
For the weekend's contests, the Americans will host a live, game-worn helmet auction and Zamboni rides, with the proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society. The helmets, worn by the team specifically for the weekend, will be white, and will be up for bid following Saturday night's game.
Fans are also encouraged to wear purple Saturday night in support of the cause.
The club will also donate to the American Cancer Society $2.00 from all single game tickets, and 20% of any purchases from a special weekend pack which encompasses all three games.
"The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Allen is privileged to join with the Allen Americans in hosting the American's Fight Cancer weekend," American Cancer Society Manager of Income Development Audra Cozart said. "Relay For Life of Allen has donated $583,904 to the American Cancer Society over the past eight years, these dollars went back into Collin County helping people get well."
