Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, have acquired forward Zach Hall from the Reading Royals for future considerations.

Zach Hall played in two games for the Reading Royals this season and had two assists. The native of Belleville, Ontario, played at St. Thomas University the last two seasons. Prior to that he played four years of major junior hockey with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League, where he had 67 goals and 222 points in 216 games.

The 23-year old forward is expected to join the team this weekend for a pair of games against the Wichita Thunder. The Americans host the Missouri Mavericks tonight at 7:05 PM at Allen Event Center. Call 972-912-1000 for more information.

The Allen Americans play in the ECHL, the premiere AA hockey league in North America. The Americans were established in 2009 and have won four AA championships in seven full seasons of minor pro hockey. In those seven seasons Allen has qualified for the playoffs every year with five trips to the league finals in that time. Allen is in its third season in the ECHL after playing five years in the now defunct Central Hockey League.
