May 22, 2014 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) News Release

BOSTON, (May 22, 2014) - Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today that the American Forces Network (AFN) will broadcast the 2014 MLL All-Star Game and the MLL Championship Game, making the games available to all Americans deployed overseas.

"We are honored to have the American Forces Network carry the MLL All-Star and Championship Games," said MLL Commissioner David Gross. "This will ensure that our servicemen and women all over the world will have the opportunity to enjoy the best MLL action this summer."

This is the fifth year that the network will carry MLL's games dating back to 2010 when AFN broadcast Championship Weekend for the first time. The following year AFN began broadcasting the All-Star Game, allowing American lacrosse fans around the world the opportunity to watch the best players in outdoor lacrosse compete.

"We are delighted to continue our relationship with Major League Lacrosse and bring exciting action-packed MLL lacrosse coverage to the U.S. military service members and their families deployed around the world," said Corey Slutsky, chief of AFN sports programming. "AFN provides a touch of home to those deployed, and having MLL lacrosse on our schedule allows us to continue to provide the best sports to our deserving audience."

This year, AFN will broadcast the All-Star Game on Thursday, June 26, followed by all of the action at the MLL Championship Game, at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on the campus of Kennesaw State University (Ga.) on Saturday, August 23.

The AFN service can be accessed in 175 U.S. territories including U.S. military installations, U.S. embassies and U.S. consulates. AFN can also be accessed by more than 140 U.S. naval ships at sea outside of U.S. territorial waters.
