Fort Worth leadoff hitter Brian Fryer was 2-for-5 with a run scored and a pair of stolen bases in this contest, giving him an American Association single-season record total of 47. Cats SS Nelson Teilon also had a big game in helping Fort Worth to victory over Sioux City. Teilon was 4-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI. Cats starting pitcher Pedro Flores picked up his 12th win of the season, allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out four in 6 2/3 innings of work. Fort Worth closer Jon Hunton tossed a perfect ninth to record his 19th save this season.

The Sioux Falls Canaries scored three times in the second inning to take a 3-0 lead and it turned out that was more than enough as they cruised from there to victory over Wichita. Canaries starting pitcher Pat Mahomes had a great outing, allowing one unearned run on three hits while fanning 11 batters in eight innings of work to improve to 9-6 on the season. Sioux Falls closer Kris Regas took over in the ninth inning and added to his record saves total, striking out the side to earn his 26th of the year. Canaries 1B Patrick Reilly did the bulk of the damage at the plate, going 1-for-4 with a three run shot in the second inning.

Pensacola 9, El Paso 5 (Game 1 - Completion of suspended game/11 innings)

Trailing 2-0 entering the fifth inning, the Pensacola Pelicans scored five runs to take a 5-2 lead, seemingly having the game in hand. The Diablos, however, rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth inning, forcing extras. Their run would come up short, though, when Pensacola plated four runs in the top of the 11th inning to take a 9-5 lead and went on to win by that margin. Pelicans C Dylan Parzyk led the way at the plate, going 4-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI. As a team, Pensacola tallied 18 hits in the contest.

After allowing the St. Paul Saints to tie the score at 1-1 in the top of the seventh inning, the Lincoln Saltdogs rallied to regain the lead with a run in the bottom of the frame and never looked back. Saltdogs reliever Adam Daniels picked up his first win of the season with just three pitches, recording the last out in the seventh. Lincoln reliever Matt Hammons held the lead in the ninth to earn his third save. Saltdogs RF Curt Miaso led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Grand Prairie 3, Shreveport 2

The Grand Prairie AirHogs erased a 2-0 deficit when they scored three times in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead, the same margin they would eventually win by. The victory secured the series sweep for Grand Prairie and ran the team's record to 27-12 in the second half, tops in the American Association. AirHogs reliever Vinnie DeChristofaro picked up his sixth win of the season. He allowed just one hit in two innings of work. Grand Prairie closer James Morrison worked a scoreless ninth to earn his 17th save. AirHogs SS David Espinosa led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.
