THE SERIES: This is the third and fourth meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Shreveport Mudbugs. The Bulls dropped the first two games 3-2 on a late penalty call in the final two minutes of regulation, and 7-3 the following night when the Mudbugs raced out to a 3-0 lead. The two teams meet again on the first weekend in January for a single game at the Budweiser Bull Pen at the Amarillo Civic Center.

FIRST TRIP: It's the first trip in more than seven years for an Amarillo franchise, professional or junior, to Shreveport Louisiana. The Gorillas faced the former Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in the old Central Hockey League a total of nine times from 2002-2003 to 2009-2010 and posted a record of 6-3. There were two shootout games and one that was decided in overtime. The two cities didn't play against one another for a period of three seasons 2006-2007 to 2008-2009.

THE BY-PRODUCT OF WINNING: When the Amarillo Bulls have collected victories they have done it in grand style. The Bulls have averaged at least four goals in five of their seven wins and in three of those hit five.

WHAT IS AT STAKE: The Amarillo Bulls are trying to win their second in a row for just the 2nd time since early October. Matt Nicholson's charges are coming off a 5-2 triumph against the Corpus Christi IceRays at American Bank Center on Saturday night. The Bulls currently sit fifth in the South Division just three points back of fourth.

ACROSS THE SOUTH: There are several other games in the South Division this weekend and it all starts tonight (Thursday) when the Odessa Jackalopes entertain the Lone Star Brahmas in the first of two. The Topeka RoadRoadRunners host the Kenai River Brown Bears for a pair on Friday, while starting on Saturday the Corpus Christi IceRays play host to the Wichita Falls Wildcats.
