Amarillo Bulls Players Fair Well at NAHL Top Prospects in Michigan

PLYMOUTH, MI - Three members of the Amarillo Bulls along with their South Division teammates put on a great showing at the 2018 North American Hockey League's Top Prospects event at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

In the first game, Marcus Chorney and Alex Peterson earned helpers as the South Division doubled the East Division 4-2. Chorney assisted on the 2nd South goal, while Peterson added one on the fourth marker.

In the second game, Alex Peterson cued a second period comeback for the South Division in a 4-3 overtime loss to the NAHL Selects Red. The South fell behind 3-0 in the second period but raced back to tie and force overtime with three consecutive goals. Peterson scored the first goal just 3:19 into the third period. The Selects Red scored the game winner 51 seconds into overtime. Former Bulls defenseman Quinn Warmuth and forward Jon Russell were members of the Selects Team. Russell scored a goal in the second period in the second game.

"I am extremely proud of all three young mem for their efforts the past two days," said Amarillo Bulls Head Coach Rocky Russo who was at the Top Prospects along with VP General Manager Rick Matchett. "They represented our program extremely well and generated interest from many NCAA programs."

It's back on the road this weekend for the Amarillo Bulls as they visit the Topeka RoadRunners at Kansas Expo Center Landon Arena. The action on Friday and Saturday faces-off at 7:05 pm. Tune into the action live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, and online at www.amarillobulls.com, beginning with pre-game coverage 20 minutes before the puck is dropped.

Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Mar. 9 and Saturday, Mar. 10 when the Amarillo Bulls host the Corpus Christi IceRays at 7 pm. Friday is the Family Four Pack for $44 and the Bring A Bud Pack for $22. Saturday is Amarillo Youth Hockey Retro Night. The Bulls will wear special retro, throw-back jerseys with a live auction to follow immediately after the game.
