Amarillo Bulls News Release

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls perfect weekend was noticed by the North American Hockey League.

The Divisional Stars were announced late Monday afternoon and Goaltender Jason Grande was chosen as the South Division Player Of The Week.

The Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2017-18 regular season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Players of the Week award.

It was literally a perfect weekend for the Amarillo Bulls and Jason Grande. The 6'2/185 lbs. native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, posted a shutout in both of Amarillo's home wins over the Corpus Christi IceRays this past weekend. In total, Grande, 18, stopped all 66 shots that came his way in the two wins. On Friday, Grande stopped a season-high 39 shots in a 4-0 win and on Saturday, he stopped all 27 shots that came his way in a 1-0 win. Grande now has three shutouts on the season to go along with a 6-2-0 record and a 2.13 Goals Against Average and a 93.4% Save Percentage. "Jason has been excellent for us and the big reason for our early season success. He is patient and poised in the net and that gives our team a strong sense of confidence. I am very confident that he is going to be an impact player at the NCAA Division I level and beyond," said Bulls head coach Rocky Russo.

It's a big weekend of hockey at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Thursday and Friday when the Bulls host the Lone Star Brahmas at 7 pm. Thirsty Thursday kicks off the week with $2.50 sodas and draft beer. Friday is Military Appreciation Night Presented by Sitel that features an enlistment ceremony, awards presentation, booths on the concourse and much more. The Bulls will be wearing special Military style jerseys and a live auction will take place immediately after the game in The Corral with proceeds to benefit America Celebrate Honor and Serve.

Veterans and Active Military can get free tickets to the game, while family members will pay just $10. It's also the return of the Family Four Pack for $44 (four tickets, four hotdogs and four sodas), and for $22 (two tickets, two hotdogs and two sodas). Tickets for the games are available at the Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk, Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket locations including United Supermarkets or online at www.panhandletickets.com.
