Kingston Frontenacs News Release

Brian Lashoff made an immediate impact on the Kingston Frontenacs roster after being acquired on December 3, 2008. By January he was named captain and would hold that designation for the rest of his time in the OHL. During his time in Kingston, Lashoff played in 93 regular season games and 7 playoff games. He recorded 12 goals and 34 assists for 46 points in a black and gold uniform. He was a vital part of the locker room bringing 122 games of OHL experience with him from Barrie.

During his final OHL season, Lashoff was selected to represent Team USA at the World Junior Championships. In 7 games at the tournament he recorded 2 assists helping the United States claim Gold in the 2010 edition of the tournament.

Lashoff had signed a free agent deal with the Detroit Red Wings after going undrafted, so when he left the Rogers K-Rock Centre ice for the final time he immediately joined the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League for the final 6 games of their season. He would spend the next two and a half seasons in Grand Rapids before he made his NHL debut for the Detroit Red Wings on January 21, 2013. He scored his first NHL goal that same night against the Columbus Blue Jackets' Sergei Bobrovsky.

In total, Brian Lashoff has played 122 games for the Red Wings putting up 2 goals and 11 assists for 13 points. He has played 397 games for Grand Rapids recording 21 goals and 62 assists for 83 points. He will enter the final year of his current 2-year contract with the Red Wings in September when training camp opens.
