Allen Returns After NHL Success

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced the club assigned goaltender Jake Allen to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Peoria Rivermen today.
Allen, 22, made his first NHL start on Feb. 13 and earned his first NHL victory that same night. He became the first Blues rookie since Reinhard Divis (2002-04) to win each of his first three NHL decisions. Overall, he started four consecutive games for the Blues and collected a 3-1-0 record with a 2.62 goals-against average and 0.895 save percentage. He made his NHL regular season debut on Feb. 5 against Nashville in relief of Brian Elliott.
Allen has appeared in 31 games for the Rivermen this season posting a 12-13-3-2 record including a 2.94 goals against average, .903 save percentage and two shutouts. He returns to Peoria where he is 3-0-1-0 in his last four starts with a 2.32 goals-against average and 0.918 save percentage. His last start with Peoria was on Feb. 2 vs. Chicago.
The 6'2, 200-pound goaltender set Rivermen records for wins (24), minutes played (2,805), saves (1,306) and shutouts (6) during the 2010-11 season. The Fredericton, New Brunswick native was drafted by the Blues in the second round (34th overall) of the 2008 Entry Draft.
