Allard Named Southern League Pitcher of the Week

PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves LHP Kolby Allard was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 3. It's the second weekly honor from the Southern League for Allard this season.

Allard, 20, tossed a one-hit complete game shutout in game one of Friday night's doubleheader at Trustmark Park. He walked one and struck out five through seven flawless innings to pick up his final victory of the season. Allard is 8-11 with a 3.18 ERA in 27 starts for the M-Braves this season.

The southpaw was selected as a Southern League Mid-Season and Post-Season All-Star. He was also named Braves Organizational Pitcher of the Month at Double-A Mississippi after going 1-1 with a 1.67 ERA in five starts during the month of April. A native of San Clemente, CA, Allard was selected by the Braves in the first round of the 2015 draft.

The Mississippi Braves baseball team is the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Since the inaugural 2005 season, over 125 M-Braves have gone on to play in the big leagues.
