Alex Limoges, Dayton Rasmussen and Paul Washe Named to 2016 World Jr. a Challenge

Kearney, Neb. - Tri-City Storm goaltender Dayton Rasmussen and forwards Alex Limoges and Paul Washe have been named to the U.S. Junior Select Team that will compete at the 2016 World Jr. A Challenge from December 11-17 in Bonnyville, Alberta, Canada, USA Hockey announced Tuesday. All three are second-year Storm players that won the 2016 Clark Cup.
Additionally, Tri-City Equipment Manager Dan Bouska will represent the U.S. Junior Select Team, working with the team at the tournament.
The under-20 tournament is comprised of six teams and five countries: Canada East, Canada West, the Czech Republic, Russia, Switzerland and the United States.
Rasmussen and Washe were two of five Storm players rated by NHL Central Scouting on its November "Players to Watch List". The Denver commit Rasmussen, 18, was awarded a "B" rating, indicating he is a candidate for selection in the second or third round of the 2017 NHL Draft. Washe was deemed a "C" rating, given to fourth, fifth, or sixth round prospects.
Rasmussen has collected a 7-3-1-1 record, 2.33 goals against average and a .917 save percentage this season. Over his last seven appearances, Rasmussen has helped the Storm earn at least a point in six games and established a new career high in saves (40) at Lincoln on November 11.
Washe is tied for second on the Storm with six goals and fourth with 12 points. A Western Michigan commit that turns 18 years old on November 27, the 6-foot-1, 191-lb. native of Clarkston, Michigan is a senior at Kearney High School.
Limoges, 19, is Tri-City's goals (9) and points (18) leader. Called a "cerebral" player by Tri-City Head Coach Bill Muckalt, the Cornell commit has nine goals and 16 points over his last 12 games. Limoges scored the game-winning goal in the 2016 Clark Cup Final and stands 6-foot-1, 201 lbs.
Last season, defenseman John Marino and forwards Carson Meyer and Jake Wahlin represented the Storm on the U.S. Junior Select Team. Marino is a freshman at #9 Harvard, notching one goal and three assists. Wahlin has accumulated three goals and six points for #15 St. Cloud State. The freshman Meyer is third on Miami with ten points.
This year's pre-tournament starts on Friday, December 9 with pre-tournament action in Cold Lake, Alberta. The United States plays two games in its group, December 12 against the Czech Republic and December 13 against Canada West, before the quarterfinals kick off on December 14.
Friday, November 25, Tri-City travels to Sioux Falls for the final time this season and drops the puck with the Stampede at 7:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Classic Hits.
Saturday, November 26, the Storm matches Des Moines for the first time, with the game on The Breeze 94.5 FM.
The Storm returns home for a pair of home games on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3 against Waterloo. Friday's game is a 7:05 p.m. puck drop for First Responders Night, presented by New West Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, plus a $5 Kids Friday. Tri-City will honor local first responders throughout the night, paying tribute to the hard work and efforts of so many in the central Nebraska community.
Saturday, December 3 is Boy Scout Day, presented by Cabela's, and features a special 3:05 p.m. start time and one-game-only specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game.
