Elian Herrera (1-for-2, 3 RBI, 3 BB) and Alex Castellanos (1-for-3, 4 RBI) collected seven of Albuquerque's (53-41) nine RBI powering the club to a 9-2 win over the Nashville Sounds (32-62). The Isotopes are now in sole possession of first place in the American Southern Division.

Red Patterson (5-3, 3.44) stepped into the game in the fourth inning in place of starter Matt Magill. He cruised through 3.1 innings allowing just one hit and no runs, earning the win. He struck out six batters. Patterson also collected his first professional hit with a double in the sixth.

Eyeing a series sweep, Herrera grounded out allowing shortstop Dee Gordon to score in the first. Ian Stewart and Brian Barden followed with back-to-back doubles scoring the game's second run. Barden's RBI double-bagger was his 19th of the season, drawing him even with Justin Sellers for the team lead. Gordon swiped his Pacific Coast Leading 33rd base in the inning.

Albuquerque duplicated their two-run first in the second doubling their lead. Elian Herrera collected his second and third RBI of the game on a single. Herrera posted his first three-RBI game of the season. The Isotopes tacked on two in the fourth and three in the eighth, including Castellanos' three-run single, taking control of the game. Castellanos drove in four for the first time this year.

Magill came off the disabled list today and made his first start since June 19 going 3.1 innings. The righty did not allow a run through his first three innings of work. He departed after surrendering two fourth-inning runs on four hits, he allowed five base knocks overall. He walked one and struck out three.

Southpaw Kelvin De La Cruz finished the game for the Isotopes tossing two scoreless frames striking out four. Justin Sellers went 1-for-2 with three runs scored and two walks in the contest. He is hitting .480 (12-for-25) this season against Nashville with nine RBI. Zach Kroenke (4-12, 4.67) took the loss for the Sounds giving up six runs, five earned, over five innings.

Albuquerque hits the road for a four-game set against the Iowa Cubs beginning tomorrow, July 11 at 6:05 PM MDT. Righty Angel Castro (5-2, 3.09) is set to square off against Iowa's righty Barret Loux (4-3, 4.25). The Isotopes will return to Albuquerque following the All-Star break to face the Omaha Storm Chasers in a four-game series for the final time in the 2013 regular season.
