Albany hands South Georgia their fourth straight loss, 48-39

ALBANY, GA- The South Georgia Wildcats remained winless with a 39-48 defeat at the Albany Civic Center in front of 6,896 fans on Saturday night.

Wildcats offensive specialist Matt Burstein led all receivers with 10 catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Burstein was named Offensive Player of the Game for his efforts. WR/LB Chris McKinney hauled in five passes for 63 yards and two scores and WR/DB Adrian Cockfield chipped in with six receptions for 64 yards and two touchdowns. QB Bobby Pesavento was 32-of-54 for 386 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions.

Albany’s DS Travis Coleman earned ADT Defensive Player of Game picking off Pesavento twice and returning both interceptions for touchdowns. Coleman also added six tackles and three pass break-ups. WR/DB Jeff Higgins returned a kickoff 51 yards for a touchdown with 4:09 remaining in the game to put the Conquest ahead for good 41-39. Higgins also had one catch and three tackles and was named U.S. Army Ironman of the Game. QB D. Bryant finished the night 18-of-25 for 204 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. OS Manwell Talbert had seven catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively the Wildcats were led by Chris McKinney with five tackles and defensive specialist Leo FenceRoy had two interceptions.
