FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS WEEK

With four games of the Albany Devils seven-game stretch of Northeast Divisional games completed, the team hosts the Springfield Falcons at 7 pm Wednesday at Times Union Center before a home-and-home series against the Adirondack Phantoms this weekend. The Devils travel to Glens Falls Civic Center at 7 pm Friday and return to Times Union Center at 2 pm Saturday.

Saturday's Time Warner Cable Cup contest is part of a hockey doubleheader at Times Union Center. The Devils vs. Phantoms 2 pm game precedes the Union College vs. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute contest at 7 pm. The AHL game features $5 and $10 tickets for Time Warner Cable customers who present their cable bills at the arena box office. Additionally, the first 2,000 fans will receive a Matt Anderson bobblehead, courtesy of Time Warner Cable. The event also includes a special appearance by Spiderman.

Fans can also take advantage of the "Dunkin' Donuts Family 4 Pack" for Saturday's contest. For just $52, patrons receive four tickets, four hats and a $10 Dunkin' Donuts gift card. Albany has gone 6-3-0-2 in its last 11 outings, earning 14-out-of-a-possible-22 points. The team is tied for 11th in the Eastern Conference and sits three points out of eighth place with a 15-13-1-8 record (39 pts.). The Devils, who are third in the Northeast Division, are 7-7-0-5 at home and 8-6-1-3 on the road.

The Falcons, who are 8-1-1-0 in their last 10, lead the Northeast Division and are tied for first in the Eastern Conference with a 24-9-3-3 showing (54 pts.), including a 13-4-2-0 road record. The Phantoms, who are 4-5-0-1 in the last 10, are fifth in the division and 14th in the conference with a 17-19-1-1 (36 pts.) mark with an 8-9-0-1 home record and a 9-10-1-0 road showing.

DEVILS NOTABLES

- Albany has scored four-or-more goals in six of the last eight games.

- The Devils have netted nine power play goals in the last seven contests, operating at 17.5 percent (7-40).

- With the New Jersey Devils back in action, Jacob Josefson, Mattias Tedenby and Adam Larsson have been recalled to the NHL.

- Bryan Haczyk and Kelly Zajac were both recalled by Albany from Trenton (ECHL) last week and Harry Young was recalled from Kalamazoo (ECHL). All three players appeared in at least one game last week.

- Bobby Butler was recalled by New Jersey for the NHL training camp on Jan. 13 and returned on loan Saturday. After missing three games, he returned to Albany's lineup against Adirondack Sunday. On Wednesday, the AHL announced that Butler was selected to the 2013 Dunkin' Donuts AHL All-Star Classic, which takes place Jan. 27-28 in Providence, RI.

- Butler leads the Devils with 23 points with 15 goals and eight assists. In 33 games, he has registered five power-play goals and a plus-7 rating. He posted 16 points (11g-5a) during December alone. Butler will be making his second appearance in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2011 he was named MVP of the game.

- Eric Gelinas had a goal and an assist during last weekend's games. He now has nine points with three goals and six assists in the last 10 games. For the season, he has 10 points, including four goals and six assists, in 20 games.

- Mike Sislo is coming off a three assist weekend. He posted a season-high two helpers Friday and followed with an assist on the game-winning goal Saturday. In 23 outings, he has six points with a goal and five assists.

- Matt Anderson contributed a goal and an assist this past weekend, giving him a goal and six assists in his last seven outings. Anderson is tied for third on the team among active players with 19 points, backed by six goals and 13 assists.

- Keith Kinkaid is 6-1-1 in his last eight starts and 11-2-1-1 since Dec. 1. For the season, he is 12-8-4 with a 2.43 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.
