Alaska Wild News Release

With a passing offense that finished last in the Intense Football League in 2008, the Wild have addressed every self-proclaimed weakness for the 2009 season. Adding yet another facet to the offense, the Wild signed wide receiver Solomon Jones on Friday. Jones, who played in Fairbanks in 2008 for part of the season, finished with 76 catches for 922 yards and 18 touchdowns. Jones (5'10", 185) also played with the Inglewood Blackhawks in 2008 and recorded 56 catches for 997 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jones also played with Inglewood in 2007 and finished with 47 catches for 871 yards and 12 touchdowns. Jones is expected to play a large role at receiver for the Wild in 2009.

With the Indoor Football League instituting new offensive rules for 2009, the Wild needed to add speed, power and depth to the running back position. Paul Mosley, from Austin, Texas and a former Baylor University standout, signed with the Alaska Wild on Tuesday. Mosley (6'3", 240) finished his career at Baylor with 407 rushing attempts, 1,718 yards and 17 touchdowns. Receiving at Baylor, Mosley had 49 receptions for 323 yards and four touchdowns. According to Thehuddle.com, Mosley ranked 30th among running backs in the 2007 NFL Draft, which featured the likes of Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch and Antonio Pittman. Mosley was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2007 and spent three months with the team. Mosley played with the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings of the AF2 in 2008 at both fullback and linebacker. He finished with 47 tackles, an interception and four fumble recoveries. Mosley is expected to start at running back for the Wild.
