AKRON, OH - The Akron Racers Foundation announced today, the 2018 schedule of high school events that will take place at historic Firestone Stadium and surrounding fields this coming spring. The always action packed high school tournament schedule has grown to include a second JV Jamboree event, totaling six tournaments this coming April.

The high school tournaments will give spectators plenty of chances to see many of the most talented high school softball players and teams in the region, and even the state. Meanwhile, it gives those players and teams a glimpse at their goal of ending their season triumphantly on the Firestone Stadium diamond at the 2018 OHSAA State Softball Tournament.

All of the tournaments at Firestone Stadium are OHSAA approved events and each team that participates in a tournament will receive 15 "anytime" tickets to be used throughout the 2018 Akron Racers NPF season. The three-game pool play tourney registration deadline is February 1st. The cost of participation is $385.00.

The action at Firestone Stadium kicks off with the Ohio Invitational on Friday, April 6. The three-day Ohio Invitational will give talented high school players in the area their first chance during the 2018 season to play on Firestone Stadium's "Field of Dreams".

Following the Ohio Invitational, will be back-to-back weekends with two tournaments taking place at the same time. The Spring Showcase and JV Jamboree I will both take place Friday, April 13 through Sunday, April 15. The Rock N Fire and JV Jamboree II will follow April 20-22.

The regular season tournament schedule will conclude with the Grand Slam, running from Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29, as teams around the state prepare for the state tournament.

The City of Akron in cooperation with Akron Racers Foundation, will again host the 16 finalists for the 2018 OHSAA Girl's State Softball Tournament. The State Semifinals and Finals in all four divisions will take place from Thursday, May 31 through Saturday, June 2.
