AirHogs Drop 2nd in Sioux Falls, 2-1

SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota - The AirHogs dropped a tight second game 2-1 to the Sioux Falls Canaries Friday despite 3 hits from Cory Morales and 2 from Mike Miller. Derek Callahan got the ball to start for the 1st time in the regular season and surrendered 2 runs on 7 hits over 5 â..." innings. His offense built him an early lead on a run by Juan Sanchez on a Canaries error in the first.

Sioux Falls tied the game in the bottom of the 2nd on an RBI base hit by Ozney Guillen and took the lead in the 5th on a sacrifice fly by Blake Schmit. Canaries starter Joe Bircher scattered 7 hits over 7 frames to earn his 2nd W of the season.

The AirHogs threatened in both the 7th and 8th, leaving a man on 3rd base to end each frame. Cory Morales and Mike Miller combined for 5 of the AirHogs' 9 hits in the loss. The Canaries were led by Ethan Chapman and Rubi Silva, who combined for half of the team's 8 hits and both of its runs.

The game was Texas's 32nd of the season that has been decided by 2 runs or less. The AirHogs (25-46) and the Canaries (26-45) meet again tomorrow at 6:05. RHP Cody Hebner is expected to start for the AirHogs.
