On Tuesday, Patrick O'Sullivan tallied his third hat trick of the season to help Houston to a 5-4 shootout win over Chicago... Kamil Kreps scored in the eighth round to give Rochester a 4-3 shootout win in Omaha... Reinhard Divis made 27 saves as Peoria shut out Milwaukee, 4-0.

LOOKING AHEAD: First place in the Atlantic Division is on the line as Portland (84 points) visits Hartford (82 points) on Wednesday evening (7:00 ET)... The teams have split their first eight meetings this season, although the Pirates have won two of three at the Hartford Civic Center... The Wolf Pack's Jarkko Immonen has 14 points (9g, 5a) in the season series, including five goals in a 6-0 win on Feb. 4... Hartford's Al Montoya has allowed just four goals in seven periods of work (1.71 GAA) against the AHL's second-ranked offense... Connecticut native Ryan Shannon is on an eight-game scoring streak for the Pirates (5g, 5a), and Pierre Parenteau is riding a five-game streak (4g, 4a)... The Pack are 13-1-0-1 in their last 15 games, and 8-0-0-1 in their last nine at home... Portland is 11-3-1-2 since Jan. 29, with two of the three regulation losses coming at the hands of Hartford.

Syracuse travels down Interstate 81 to Wilkes-Barre for a Wednesday matchup with the leaders in the East Division (7:05 ET)... The Crunch have one win in their last five outings (1-1-2-1) following an eight-game winning streak... Mark Hartigan continues to steal the headlines, with points in 13 straight and 31 of his last 32 games (29g, 29a)... Matt Hussey leads the Penguins with nine points in five games head-to-head with Syracuse this season... Erik Christensen, with 37 points in 29 AHL games in 2005-06, was returned to Wilkes-Barre by parent club Pittsburgh on Monday... Syracuse has scored 12 goals in six games versus the Pens this year, nine of them coming on the power play against the AHL's top-ranked penalty killers.

Peoria visits Grand Rapids on Wednesday (7:00 ET) to close out a busy stretch of five games in six nights and six in eight for the Rivermen... Peoria is 9-2-0-1 in its last 12 road games following Tuesday's 4-0 win in Milwaukee, the team's seventh shutout of the season... Five of the Rivermen's top six scorers were either on NHL recall to St. Louis or injured before Jon DiSalvatore and Timofei Shishkanov were returned to Peoria earlier today... Picking up the slack for the Rivermen offense, Gavin Morgan has six goals in the last three games after scoring five in his first 52... Donald MacLean has scored 35 goals in his last 34 games for Grand Rapids... The Griffins' Nate DiCasmirro has recorded an even or better rating in 50 of his 59 games played this season, and is tied with teammate Bryan Helmer for third in the AHL at plus-21.

ALUMNI WATCH: On Tuesday, 2005 AHL All-Rookie forward Thomas Vanek scored his 20th goal of the season to help Buffalo past Boston, 3-2... 2005 AHL All-Star Patrick Sharp scored the winning goal in Chicago's 3-1 win over Columbus... On Monday, 2004 AHL All-Star Bryan Muir scored two goals for Washington in a 5-2 win over the N.Y. Islanders... 2005 AHL MVP Jason Spezza and fellow 2003 AHL All-Rookie forward Antoine Vermette had goals in Ottawa's 4-0 victory at Tampa Bay.
