af2 teams up with Sportexe to present 2007 af2 Coach of the Year Award

March 26, 2007 - arenafootball2 (af2) News Release

CHICAGO - The arenafootball2 league is proud to announce that the 2007 af2 Coach of the Year Award will be presented courtesy of Sportexe synthetic turf company. Sportexe is the exclusive developer of Arena Football fields throughout the country.

"We're excited about this new addition to our already existing relationship with Sportexe," af2 President Jerry Kurz said. "The af2's current group of coaches is the strongest we've ever had and we're very fortunate to now have a top-notch, year-end award to recognize our league's best of the best."

This year's Sportexe af2 Coach of the Year will follow in the steps of successful former winners such as Chris Siegfried (2006), Danton Barto (2005), Brett Munsey (2001) and Mike Neu (2000). Siegfried, the af2's all-time leader in career coaching wins with 57, is currently the offensive coordinator for the Arena Football League's Kansas City Brigade. Barto, Munsey and Neu have moved on to become head coaches in the AFL with Las Vegas, Philadelphia and New Orleans, respectively.

"This is a perfect fit," said Aaron S. Lee, national football-coaching insider and Sportexe spokesperson referring to the Sportexe af2 Coach of the Year announcement. "Not only does Sportexe already have a long-lasting relationship with af2 from a business standpoint, but also the Sportexe COY is quickly recognized as a new benchmark in football-coaching performance and recognition. We leave no stone unturned in our selection process and the af2 has an extremely deep pool of stellar coaching talent waiting to be acknowledged."

As one of the global leaders in the synthetic turf system industry, Sportexe began their Coach of the Year Awards in 2006. They annually award coaches nationwide on all major levels from high school, college and professional ranks that demonstrate the same quality, integrity and performance that has become synonymous with the Sportexe brand.
