Aeros Unveil Full 2010 Schedule

AKRON, OH - The Aeros look to keep up their '09 success going right into next season just weeks after winning the Eastern League Championship, the club announced the full 2010 schedule today. Akron will begin their 2010 title defense on the road in Binghamton, but will return to Canal Park on Thursday, April 15th for their home opener against the Baysox.

The Aeros will wrap up their first road trip in Trenton on April 14th before heading home to face the Baysox and Curve. The Aeros will continue with a start time of 1:35PM on all Sunday home games at Canal Park through the 2010 season. One other 1:35 p.m. start will come on Saturday, April 17th against the Bowie Baysox and Saturday, May 1st

against the Binghamton Mets.

Akron will open the season on the road in Binghamton and will make a return trip in late May (8 games), they will also make trips to four other Northern Division teams starting with Trenton (7 games), New Britain (3 games), Portland (3 games) and New Hampshire (3 games).

Northern Division rivals come to Canal Park only once during the season, as the Binghamton Mets and Trenton Thunder come to Canal Park on April 30th - May 2nd and May 3rd - 6th respectively and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Portland Sea Dogs both make their only trips to Canal Park on June 8th -10th and June 11th -13th , respectively. The Aeros also welcome in New Britain August 7th -9th .

Akron will welcome their 2009 Eastern League Championship opponent from Richmond, who relocated from Connecticut after the 2009 season, on June 22nd -24th before traveling to Richmond for three games on June 28th -30th .

The home schedule concludes in the last week of August with a four-game set against the Erie SeaWolves on August 26th - 29th . The Aeros then finish the remaining eight games on the road, traveling to Trenton and finish the season in Erie.

The schedule is layed out with Akron hosting 8 games in April, 17 in May, 15 in June, 17 in July, 14 in August and playing all games in September on the road. Among Southern Division foes, Erie will play at Canal Park 11 times, followed closely by Altoona and Reading who both play in Akron 10 times, Bowie with 7 games in Akron and Harrisburg visiting 6 times. The Aeros play at home 13 times on Thursday, 12 times each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11 times on both Tuesday and Wednesday and 6 times on Monday.

The traditional Education Days will also return for the 2010 season, with three 10:35 a.m. starts filling in the schedule. The first morning start comes April 21st as the Aeros host the Altoona Curve, followed by early games with the Trenton Thunder May 6th and the final early morning game will come on May 27th against Altoona.

The full promotional schedule is still being developed, but fan-favorites like Friday fireworks shows, Thirsty Thursdays, and other weekly concessions and ticket discounts are sure to return again for the 2010 season. For more information, please call the Jeff Holtke at (330) 253-5151 x254.
