Aeros Jason Zucker Named to AHL All-Star Team

Houston, TX - The Houston Aeros, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced on Thursday that forward Jason Zucker has been named to the 2013 Western Conference All-Star team. The 2013 Dunkin' Donuts AHL All Star Classic runs from Jan. 27 - Jan. 28 in Providence, RI.

Zucker has a team-high 16 goals with 17 assists for a team-leading 33 points in 34 games played. Zucker also leads the team with nine power-play goals, five game-winning goals and 129 shots. The rookie winger is tied for the AHL lead in power-play goals and tied for second in game-winning goals. He also leads all AHL rookies in power-play goals and game-winning goals, while placing third overall in goals. Zucker sits second among all AHL rookies in points and he is second with 19 power-play points.

The Newport Beach, CA native was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the second round (#59 overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. The 21-year old is one of the most decorated skaters in Team USA history, winning a gold medal at the 2010 World Juniors and a bronze medal at the 2011 World Juniors.

The 2013 Pepsi AHL All-Star Skills Competition is set for Sunday, Jan. 27 (7 p.m. ET) and the 2013 AHL All-Star Game to follow on Monday, Jan. 28 (7 p.m. ET), will air in high-definition and reach more than 100 million households on a comprehensive network of television partners in the United States - anchored by NESN - and on Sportsnet in Canada. Live broadcasts of the event will be streamed worldwide via AHL Live (ahllive.com).

Houston embarks on a five-game road trip, starting Saturday at 7 p.m. in Chicago against the Wolves. The team returns to Toyota Center after the All-Star break, hosting Texas on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
