Admirals Sign Goaltender Shane Connelly

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announced today that they have signed goaltender Shane Connelly to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).

Connelly, 22, is a 5-foot-9, 177-pound goaltender from Cheltenham, Pennsylvania. He has appeared in 14 games with the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs so far in this season. The professional rookie has posted a 3-7-2 record in those games.

Connelly appeared in 90 games with the University of Wisconsin Badgers from 2005-06 to 2008-09, posting a 41-36-11 record over his collegiate career. He was a part of the 2006 Wisconsin National Championship team in his first collegiate season.

The Admirals will battle the Hershey Bears in a home-and-home set of games beginning this evening at Giant Center. The puck drops tonight at 5:00 p.m. The Admirals and Bears then travel to Norfolk to face off at Scope on Tuesday night at 7:15 p.m.
