Norfolk Admirals News Release

NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals finished the 2007-08 schedule last week with a pair of wins on the road.

On Wednesday night, an Albany goal with under a minute to play spoiled a solid performance by goaltender Marc Denis, as the Admirals fell to the River Rats 2-1 at the Times Union Center. Kyle Wanvig's second goal of the game early in the third period was the difference and Dana Tyrell registered two assists as the Admirals defeated the Binghamton Senators 3-2 on Friday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. On Saturday night, Wanvig forced overtime by scoring with three minutes left in regulation and Paul Szczechura netted the game winner 41 seconds into overtime as the Admirals closed out the 2007-08 season with a 3-2 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.
