Admirals Blue Line Bolstered by Returns of Defensemen Nate Guenin and Hampus Lindholm

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the AHL's Norfolk Admirals and the ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets, have returned defenseman Nate Guenin to the Admirals. In addition, defenseman Hampus Lindholm will report back to the Admirals, and the Ducks have reassigned goaltender Jeff Deslauriers from Anaheim to Fort Wayne.

Guenin, 6-foot-3, 207 pounds, was recalled by Anaheim on Feb. 11th and did not appear in a game with the Ducks. He has appeared in 41 games with the Admirals this season, posting two goals and 12 points with 20 penalty minutes and a +5 plus/minus rating while serving as Norfolk's captain. He is second in scoring among team defensemen. In 416 career AHL games between Norfolk, Syracuse, Springfield, Peoria, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Philadelphia, Guenin has 16 goals and 95 points with 532 penalty minutes.

The 30-year-old from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, has appeared in 32 career NHL games between Anaheim, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, scoring two goals and four points with 14 penalty minutes. He was acquired by the Ducks from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Trevor Smith on January 4, 2011.He signed a two-year deal with Anaheim on June 17, 2011.

Guenin was originally selected in the fourth round (127th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers. He appeared in four seasons of collegiate hockey at The Ohio State University, posting six goals and 53 points in 151 games.

Lindholm, 6-foot-3, 195-pounds, re-joins the Admirals after joining Team Sweden for the World Junior Championships on Dec. 11, 2012. He was injured during an exhibition game before the tournament began and had not played since.

A 19-year-old native of Helsingborg, Sweden, Lindholm has appeared in 19 games for the Admirals this season, posting one goal and five points with ten penalty minutes and a plus-2 rating. He made his North American professional debut with the Admirals on Oct. 12, 2012, against the Worcester Sharks at 18 years, eight months and 23 days old, becoming the youngest player in the American Hockey League on 2012-13 Opening Night rosters and the youngest player in AHL Admirals history.

Anaheim drafted Lindholm last June in the first round (sixth overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He appeared in 28 games with Rogle BK of the Swedish Division 2 league last season, scoring one goal and four points. In 10 playoff games, Lindholm posted one goal and five points to help the club clinch a spot in the Swedish Elite League in 2012-13. Lindholm also played 28 games for Rogle Jr. in 2011-12, compiling five goals and 17 points with a plus-25 rating.

Deslauriers, 28 (5/15/84), was recalled on Feb. 9 from Norfolk but did not appear in a game for the Ducks. He appeared in two games with Norfolk this season, going 1-1-0 with a 3.51 goals-against average (GAA) and .889 save percentage (SV%). Deslauriers made his season debut on Jan. 20 at Charlotte and earned his first win on Feb. 8 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, stopping 31-of-32 shots for a 4-1 victory.

Signed as a free agent on July 12, 2011, Deslauriers has appeared in 62 career NHL contests with Anaheim and Edmonton, posting a 23-32-4 record with three shutouts, a 3.24 GAA and a .901 SV%.
