Adin Hill Signs with Arizona Coyotes

Portland Winterhawks goaltender Adin Hill has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes. Hill was selected in the third round, 76th overall, in last June's National Hockey League Draft. As a 20-year-old next season, he will be eligible to return to Portland.

Hill posted a .917 save percentage and 2.96 goals against average in 65 games this season for a record of 32-27-5-1, along with a career-high three shutouts. He was named the team's co-MVP, the Vaughn WHL Goaltender of the Month for October, earned two consecutive WHL Goaltender of the Week awards, and represented Team WHL in the 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series in November.

"Today is an exciting day for Adin and his family by signing his first NHL contract with Arizona," said Portland Winterhawks Assistant General Manager Matt Bardsley. "In his second full season in Portland, Adin established himself as one of the top goaltenders in the WHL and as an organization we are excited that he has earned himself a contract with the Coyotes.

Hill finished the 2015-16 regular season as the franchise's leader with the most single season appearances by a Winterhawks goalie, after passing the mark previously set by Joaquin Gage (1991-92), Scott Langkow (1994-95), and Mac Carruth (2011-12). He also set the records for the most saves in a shutout (45 saves), and the most saves in a single season (2,115).

After two full seasons with the Winterhawks, Hill has appeared in 115 career games with record of 67-38-6-1, and has posted a career save percentage of .919 and a career goals against average of 2.86.
