Adam Eaton Set to Join Aces on Major League Rehab
May 3, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release
RENO, Nev.-Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Adam Eaton is scheduled to join the Reno Aces on Friday night to begin his Major League Rehabilitation Assignment, the organization announced today.
The 2012 Pacific Coast League Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year is expected to be with Reno for the first four games of the club's upcoming homestand against the Omaha Storm Chasers May 7-10.
Eaton was placed on the D-backs 15-day Disabled List on April 30, with a left elbow strain. He went 23-for-59 (.390) in 20 Spring Training games with Arizona before his injury.
In 2012, Eaton led the PCL in batting average (.381), hits (186), doubles (46), on-base percentage (.456), stolen bases (38), runs scored (119) and total bases (263), despite starting the season in Double-A Mobile. The lefty was named a 2012 PCL mid and postseason All-Star for his efforts, and was also named the D-backs organizational Player of the Year.
The Reno fan favorite made his Major League debut with the D-backs as a September call-up last season. He went 22-for-85 (.259) in his first stint at the big league level, before an injury ended his year.
D-backs infielder Didi Gregorius and outfielder Cody Ross also completed Major League Rehab Assignments with the Aces earlier this season.
The Aces kick off a four-game road series in Tacoma tonight, before returning to Reno for another eight game homestand on May 7.
Tickets are on sale for the upcoming series, and all Aces home games, at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
