The Aces racked up 22 shots in the opening period, but the game stayed scoreless until late in the period. Alex Hudson scored at 17:28 from the slot to finally break the scoreless tie. The goal was Huson's fourth in his last four games, and stood as the only tally of the period, and the Aces took a 1-0 lead into the intermission.

The second period proved to be short on goals as well with Alaska's Mark Guggenberger and San Francisco's Thomas Heemskerk continuing to rack up saves. The Bulls even the scored when Yanni Gourde scored from just outside the crease at 14:53. San Francisco outshot Alaska 12-10 in the period.

The Bulls thought they had claimed their first lead of the night less than a minute into the third period. Guggenberger made a sprawling save on San Francisco's Jordan Morrison, and San Francisco poked the puck into the goal on a goal mouth scramble. However, it was ruled that Guggenberger had possession and had frozen the puck before it was poked out of his control. Clackson broke the 1-1 tie at 9:14 of the final period when Nick Mazzolini played the puck to him from the high slot. Clackson redirected a puck through Heemskerk that trickled into the net gor the go-ahead goal.

Mark Guggenberger (23-7-5) made 30 saves on 31 shots earning the win. Thomas Heemskerk (13-17-3) made 43 saves on 45 shots, while taking the loss. The Aces went 0-2 on the power play and the Bulls were 0-4. Alaska outshot San Francisco 45-31 in the game.

The Aces and Bulls continue their three-game series on Friday and Saturday. The Aces return for one final home series on Wednesday, March 13 when they welcome the Idaho Steelheads.
