Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - Tony Deluca's second period goal proved to be the game-winner as the Alaska Aces salvaged the final game of a three game series with Idaho, beating the Steelheads 3-2 Sunday at the Sullivan Arena.

Idaho had beaten the Aces 2-0 Friday and 3-1 Saturday.

The Steelheads got off to a good start with Emil Molin's first period power play goal at 3:42 of the first period, his 3rd goal in the last 2 games. Alaska would push back though, as Justin Breton, driving in on the left wing, blasted home a gorgeous pass from William Wrenn in the right circle for his team-leading 15th goal of the season at 12:19. Stephen Perfetto also picked up a helper.

Perfetto got in on the scoring a little less than 3 minutes later, banking a centering pass from below the goal line off an Idaho defenseman's skate and past netminder Brandon Komm at 15:09, his 8th goal of the season. Wrenn and Garet Hunt assisted.

In the second, the Aces made it 3-1 on Tony Deluca's 4th goal of the season at 15:52. Deluca curled into the slot out of the right circle and wristed the shot home. Tomasso Traversa and Ben Lake helped out and the second period ended 3-1 Alaska.

Idaho made it a one-goal game at 18:03 of the third on Joe Basaraba's first goal of the season, but the Steelheads could not muster an equalizer.

Aces goaltender Troy Redmann had 26 saves in the win...Komm made 35 saves in the loss.

The Aces next travel to Colorado for games with the Eagles January 29 and 30.

The Aces return to the Sullivan Arena to face the defending ECHL champion Allen Americans at the Sullivan Arena February 10, 12 and 13. It will be Aces Hall of Fame weekend. For tickets, stop by the Aces ticket office at 15th and Gambell Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm or go online at www.alaskaaces.com.
