The Aces outshot the Wranglers 9-4 in the opening period and scored first and last to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. After missing the last two games, Nick Mazzolini made an immediate impact in his return to the lineup, scoring the first goal at 6:49. Mazzolini's goal was his team-leading 25th of the year and made it 1-0 Alaska. Las Vegas All-Star Chris Francis pulled the Wranglers even when he stole the puck at the Aces blue line and then walked in on Gerald Coleman and scored at 14:02. Alaska reclaimed the lead on a Bobby Hughes goal from the left circle at 15:16 to give the Aces the intermission advantage.

It was more offense in the second period as both teams struck twice. Mazzolini scored on a rebound 1:08 into the frame to extend Alaska's lead to 3-1. The Wranglers then scored back-to-back goals to even the score. Sean Wiles scored at 7:34, followed by Judd Blackwater's game-tying goal at 13:22. Late in the period, just after a two-man advantage had expired, Shawn Skelly scored on a power play rebound at 17:57, for his third goal since joining the Aces. The goal gave Alaska a 4-3 lead at second intermission. The Aces outshot Las Vegas 18-13 in the period.

The Wranglers controlled most of play in the third period, but Alaska maintained their one-goal lead for the majority of the period. The Wranglers thought they tied the game at 14:27, but Eric Lampe was whistled for goaltender interference, disallowing the goal. The Aces failed to capitalize on a late two-man advantage, but took their 4-3 lead into the final minute. Lampe then scored at 19:16 to force overtime. The Wranglers had a disallowed goal in OT and the Aces were outshot 5-1, but the game went to a shootout. Alaska went 1-5 in the shootout, and Las Vegas went 2-4 to give them the comeback win.

Gerald Coleman (15-4-1) made 32 saves on 36 shots in the shootout loss. Joe Fallon (14-12-5) made 32 saves on 36 shots in the win. The Aces went 1-7 on the power play and the Wranglers were 0-4. Alaska was outshot by Las Vegas 37-36 in the game.

The Aces conclude a short weekend in Las Vegas on Saturday night before returning home for a three-game weekend against the Stockton Thunder on Friday, February 8th. Tickets are on sale now.
