Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat, in partnership with Abbotsford School District 34 and the Fraser Valley Distance Education School, are pleased to announce the annual Heat School Day Game will take place at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre (AESC) on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. The Heat will play the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres) in the first of a two game series, with puck-drop scheduled for 10:30 AM PST. All tickets for this game are priced at $10, so fans are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to host your staff, clients, friends or family.

This annual event will celebrate the Heat's commitment to supporting education and youth development in the Fraser Valley. The Heat are supporting youth education by providing all students with a workbook to reinforce the school board curriculum and engage students with learning activities throughout the hockey game.

The school day game will celebrate school spirit for the middle school students, with in-game entertainment featuring students and teachers. Prior to puck drop, students from Clayburn Middle School will perform both national anthems. During the intermissions, students and teachers will be involved in a number of games and contests. There will also be special in-game activities to encourage students to get involved in the game and utilize their workbooks.

There will be 4,000 "GO HEAT GO" thundersticks distributed pre-game by the Fraser Valley Distance Education School and the AESC concessions will offer a $5 student lunch package.
