HI, FANS!

It's almost time to head east and see all of you who have become such good friends since I first came to manage the Barnstormers two years ago.

I have been working hard to make another run at the Atlantic League title in 2013. We'll have some of your favorite players back from last year with Dwayne Pollok and Alan Johnson heading up our rotation. Everybody grew to love "Papi" Hernandez last year. You know how good Kevin Howard is. Travis Denker was a superstar in the playoffs. And it looks like we'll have a few others coming back as well.

This team I'm building is very exciting. I've got a premium big league outfielder in Jerry Owens coming in to play center. You are really going to love Olmo Rosario at second base. He was the Can-Am League Player of the Year for me in 2007. He's fun to watch and is always smiling.

Plus, we've got another load of great arms coming in. Yoslan Herrera was recommended to me by Tony Oliva. I took a look at him down in Florida, and his fastball was consistently 92-94. Then, I asked him to throw some off-speed stuff. It was really good. I have no idea how this young man does not have a job with a big league organization, but I'll gladly take him.

Brian Grening has a crazy changeup. Jay Buente has logged some big league time and is fired up to come in and compete. His minor league numbers are pretty amazing. I also have contracts out to some pitchers with plenty of Major League experience. Recognizable names. One has a World Series ring.

So, the team will look different from last year's, but I can promise you, it will play just as hard. I'm getting that itch. Spring is here. Our first exhibition game is just 4 weeks away, offering you the opportunity to check out the team at Fan Fest on April 13th. Opening Day is April 18th (click here for tickets), and that can't come soon enough!
