RoughRiders Announce Scott Meyer added to Coaching Staff

CEDAR RAPIDS- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders would like to announce they have hired Scott Meyer as an assistant coach and goalie coach. Meyer was previously with the RoughRiders during the 2004-2005, 2005-2006 and 2010-2011 seasons.

"We are very happy to welcome Scott Meyer back to the RoughRiders as an assistant coach and goalie coach," said RoughRiders Head Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson. "Scott and I have worked together for many years, as he has had a variety of roles with the team, including assistant coach and goalie coach. He understands how the RoughRiders organization works, as well as what we are looking for while scouting. Scott will make a very positive impact on our organization."

Meyer is a native of Rugby, North Dakota. Prior to beginning his coaching career, he played professionally for the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack and the ECHL's Charlotte Checkers. Meyer had been with the Minnesota Magicians of the NAHL since the 2013-2014 season.

Founded in 1999, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as the USHL Cedar Rapids RoughRiders Hockey Club, the club has won one Clark Cup Championship (2004-2005), three Anderson Cup titles (2004-2005, 2010-2011, 2015-2016) and has assisted hundreds of players in reaching their dreams of playing college hockey as student-athletes, while also having 35 former players drafted into the National Hockey League.
