GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Drive announced that Ryan Krueger will handle head coaching duties for the Grand Rapids Drive, the Detroit Pistons' NBA's G League affiliate, on a full-time basis and that Rob Werdann will return to his previous duties with the Pistons as a pro scout while tending to a private family matter.

Krueger, a native of Rockville, MD, transitions to his new position after serving three years as an assistant coach with the Drive. Previously, he was an assistant coach at Lehigh University for five seasons and helped coached the Mountain Hawks to two Patriot League championships in 2010 and 2012. He was part of the staff that led Lehigh to a win over Duke in the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and helped in the development of CJ McCollum, who became a lottery pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2013 NBA Draft.

A 2000, graduate of Lehigh, Krueger began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Maine Central Institute in 2000. He then worked as a graduate assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University before embarking on his NBA coaching career. He joined the New Jersey Nets' staff in 2003 as an assistant video coordinator and worked his way up to assistant coach. Krueger's coaching resume also includes stints at the University of Oklahoma and Rutgers University.

Werdann was serving his first season as head coach of the Drive and has been a member of the Detroit Pistons basketball operations staff for four seasons.
