WESTCHESTER KNICKS SQUASH MAD ANTS' ATTEMPT AT RECORD-BREAKING STREAK

WHITE PLAINS, NY, December 2, 2017 - The Westchester Knicks (8-4), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, quelled what would have been a franchise regular season record winning streak for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (8-2), the Indiana Pacers' affiliate, by handing the home team its second loss of the season with a 107-94 win.

Knicks affiliate player Nigel Hayes led all scorers in the game with 24 points on top of six rebounds. Knicks Two-Way player Isaiah Hicks continued his run of hitting double-digits in every game thus far, finishing with 22 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. His fellow Two-Way player, Luke Kornet, notched a double-double for the squad with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Knicks affiliate player Trey Burke provided 19 points with three each of rebounds and assists in the win, while affiliate Xavier Rathan-Mayes delivered 17 points, seven assists, and four rebounds.

Pacers Two-Way player Alex Poythress led the Mad Ants' scoring with 21 points, with guard DeQuan Jones right behind him contributing 19. Forward Jarrod Uthoff collected a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds for the team, his teammate Ike Anigbogu falling just short with 10 rebounds and eight points. Stephan Hicks rounded out the double-digit scorers from the bench, supplying and additional 10 points with five rebounds. It was a back-and-forth affair to start, the teams trading three quick ties within the first four minutes. The Knicks then went on a 12-2 run to take its first of what would become a steady double-digit lead later in the game. Coming into the matchup on an eight-game winning streak, the Mad Ants fired back and the teams left the first quarter in a 30-30 tie. The home team managed to go up by two points two minutes into the second, but after losing that lead to a Rathan-Mayes three- pointer, Fort Wayne would continue to trail for the remainder of the game.

The third quarter was the dagger for the Mad Ants as the team managed just 16 points in the twelve-minute period. In contrast, Westchester delivered a solid 27-point quarter to take the lead up to as many as 18 points. The Knicks would extend its lead to as many as 24 towards the end despite a total of only 19 points in the fourth quarter as the damage was already done. Westchester would go on to win the game 107-94, hindering the Mad Ants' attempt of a franchise record nine straight wins.
