IVANYUZHENKOV NAMED USHL FORWARD OF THE WEEK

Sioux Falls, SD-The United States Hockey League (USHL) announced Monday afternoon that Artem Ivanyuzhenkov (ARR-tim IVN-yuh-ZHEN-KAWF) has been named Forward of the Week. He earns the honor after posting five points (3g, 2a) in a two game sweep of Muskegon at the PREMIER Center over the weekend.
A native of Podolsk, Russia, Ivanyuzhenkov helped lead the Herd to a 5-3 victory on Friday with two goals and an assist. He tallied the Herd's first goal of the game 8:19 into the first period and then assisted on the second goal with just three seconds remaining. With the Stampede on the power play to start the second period, Ivanyuzhenkov scored again at 1:47 to give the Stampede a 3-1 advantage and they never looked back.
On Saturday night, Ivanyuzhenkov recorded a goal and an assist in a come-from-behind 7-4 win over the Lumberjacks. After trailing 3-0 in the first period, the Stampede scored three goals to start the second and tie the game before Ivanyuzhenkov gave the Herd their first lead of the game at 15:20 of the period. Ivanyuzhenkov intercepted a clearing attempt in the zone and wristed a shot into the back of the net for a 4-3 lead. He would add an assist on Nolan Walker's goal in the third period that gave Sioux Falls a 6-4 lead.
The 6-foot-3, 223-pound forward has registered seven points over his last four games and now has 11 points on seven goals and four assists this season, fourth best on the team. Ivanyuzhenkov spent last season with Vityazi Chekhov where he posted 27 points in 45 games.
Ivanyuzhenkov and the Stampede return to action this week with three games in four days. The Herd will travel to Fargo on Wednesday before returning home this Friday and Saturday for games against Team USA and Tri-City. Fans can take advantage of the Stampede Black Friday special at the Slap Shot Pro Shop from 6-7 PM on Friday with blowout savings on select Stampede merchandise. Puck drop is 7:05 PM each night and tickets are available through the PREMIER Center or Ticketmaster.
