The Admirals power play finished the night two-for-nine on the power play. Meanwhile on the penalty kill the Admirals held the ECHL's best power play scoreless on seven chances. Defenseman Joonas Lyytinen netted a pair of goals in the victory. Captain Brodie Dupont extended his point streak to four games with a goal and two assists, his best night of the season.

Norfolk got on the board first for the second straight night. Over half way through the period it was the power play that got the scoring started. Defenseman Joonas Lyytinen ripped a shot through traffic that found its way to the back of the net, giving Norfolk a 1-0 lead. Five minutes later the Admirals power play went back to work. After drawing a penalty Brodie Dupont capitalized on the five-on-three. Rolling off the right half wall the captain snapped off a shot to the far side of the net, beating Will King and doubling the lead.

It took the Admirals less than a minute into the second to push the lead to three. From the right-hand corner TJ Melancon fired a puck to the front of the net that found a crashing Kenton Helgesen's stick. The forward deflected the puck past King and into the cage. Norfolk carried the 3-0 lead into the second intermission.

In the third Wheeling got on the board seven minutes in, as Garrett Meurs netted his ninth of the season cutting the lead to 3-1. With the Nailers pressing late in the period Norfolk got a late tally from Joonas Lyytinen to extend the lead to 4-1. Tommy Schutt fed the puck to Lyytinen who walked the blue line wristing a shot through traffic past King to cap off the scoring.

Ty Reichenbach picked up the win making 35 saves on 36 shots, his second win of the season. Norfolk continues a six-game home streak with a trio of games against the Everblades
