TEAM NOTES

Brian Carroll, who earlier this week announced his retirement from professional soccer following this match, made the 371st and final appearance of his MLS career today ... Carroll retires ranked fourth in MLS in all-time games played, tied with Chad Marshall, and behind only Kyle Beckerman (431), Brad Davis (392) and Steve Ralston (378).

Haris Medunjanin made his 34th start of the regular season today, completing the full campaign starting every regular-season match ... he became just the fifth player in Union history to start 34 matches in a single season, joining Sebastien Le Toux (2011), Zac MacMath (2013), Raymon Gaddis (2014) and Keegan Rosenberry (2016).

Ilsinho and Fafa Picault scored two goals in the opening six minutes ... the sequence was the second-fastest duo of goals to open a match in Philadelphia history, following tallies scored in the first minute (CJ Sapong) and in the fourth minute (Sebastien Le Toux) at D.C. United on July 26, 2015.

CJ Sapong scored his 15th goal of the season in today's match, breaking a tie with Le Toux to hold the single-season Philadelphia scoring record by himself ... Sapong would later extend the record by scoring his 16th of the season, one of three players to notch braces for the Union today (Ilsinho, Picault).

The Union scored four goals in the first half of today's match, setting a club record for the most goals in a single half in team history ... previously, three had been accomplished 15 times, last on May 13, 2017 at D.C. United ... the Union also tied their all-time team high with six goals in the match, previously set on May 28, 2011 at Toronto ... today's win also was the largest margin of victory in Union history (five goals).

Today's crowd of 18,595 was the second sellout of the season at Talen Energy Stadium as well as the 44th in team history at the venue for a regular-season match.
