The Carlsbad, Calif., native tossed eight innings allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and struck out four in the Pigs 3-2 win over the Chiefs. The 22-year-old was one out away from starting his Triple-A career with 15.0 IP scoreless until an E-6 led to a pair of unearned runs in his first career CG on 5/14 vs. BUF-G1. His 14.0 IP streak was the longest scoreless streak in franchise history RHP Jackson Stephens makes his 10th start of the season for the Bats after picking up a seven inning complete game shutout in his last outing on May 21 at Columbus. In the Bats 1-0 victory, the Anniston, AL, native surrendered just seven hits while striking out three. The IronPigs comeback effort came up short as they fell 8-4 to the Indianapolis Indians (25-20) in front of 5,810 fans Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park. Indianapolis scored five runs in the first two innings to jump out to a 5-0 lead on Pigs starter Jake Thompson . The Indians scored a pair in the first inning as Max Moroff scored on a fielders choice by Eric Wood, and Wood was then batted home on an Erich Weiss RBI single to right to put the Indians on top 2-0 after one. Joey Terdoslovich then roped an RBI double to left to plate Jacob Stallings who singled to lead off the Indians second inning. Christopher Bostick then singled home Terdoslovich, and Wood scored Bostick to give the Indians a 5-0 lead after two. The Indians tallied a single run for the next three innings jumping out to the early 8-0 lead after five. Indianapolis starting pitcher laid down a suicide squeeze that scored Phil Gosselin in the third and added a RBI single to center field in the fifth to score Gosselin again. Wood plated Austin Meadows in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly to center and the Indians held a 8-0 lead. The Pigs scored three runs in the sixth inning to cut into the Indians lead and put their first runs on the board. Howie Kendrick and Rhys Hoskins both reached base via a hit by pitch and a walk respectively before Williams plated Kendrick to put the Pigs on the board. Jorge Alfaro then sent a two-run double to left-center field scoring Hoskins and Williams to cut into the Indians lead as they trailed 8-3 after six. Hector Gomez then cut the deficit in half as he launched a solo home run to left field to lead off the Pigs eighth inning as they trailed 8-4. Hoskins then doubled two batters later with just one out in the frame, however, Williams and Alfaro both struck out to end a potential Pigs rally.
