San Antonio -The San Antonio Missions are excited to announce that infielder Luis Urias was named Texas League Player of the Week for April 17-23.

In five games last week, Urias batted a sizzling .545 (12-for-22) with four doubles, two triples, three RBI, two walks and seven runs scored. For the week, the 19-year-old phenom led the TL in AVG, hits, total bases (20), OBP (.583) and SLG (.909), in addition to tying for the league lead in runs, extra-base hits, doubles and triples.

After collecting three hits over his first two games of the week, Urias erupted in Midland with back-to-back four-hit efforts from April 20-21. In San Antonio's 9-5 win over Midland on April 20, the Mexico native delivered a pair of doubles, while driving in a run and scoring twice.

The next night he starred in the Missions' 16-13 win over the 'Hounds, finishing a homer short of the cycle and setting new club season highs in both triples (2) and runs scored (5).

Urias, who enters Tuesday on a season-best seven-game hit streak, is currently the No. 6 prospect in the San Diego system according to Baseball America.

San Antonio resumes its four-game series with Frisco Tuesday at 7:05 PM.
