Travs Ride Pitching to 3-2 Win

Arkansas Travelers News Release
Tulsa, OK-Strong pitching delivered the Arkansas Travelers a 3-2 win on Tuesday night over the Tulsa Drillers as the Travs improve to 9-9 on the season.
Travs starter Dylan Unsworth (1-1) put together a stellar performance in earning his first win of the season. After giving up a run in the 1st, Unsworth would retire nine consecutive hitters and 16 out of 18. His season-best eight strikeouts came in the opening 19 hitters of the game. Unsworth would get into trouble in the seventh but the bullpen would pick him up.
After Tulsa had scored to pull within a run, they had two on and two out when Brett Ash came in from the 'pen. Ash would walk the first batter he faced but then come back to strike out Tim Locastro to end the inning. After back-to-back hits in the eighth inning, Ash would induce a double play grounder to preserve the Travs lead. Peter Tago was summoned for the ninth and worked around a two out single and wild pitch to collect his first save of the year.
All of the offense for Arkansas came in the second inning. Kyle Waldrop and Marcus Littlewood opened the inning with base hits before Chantz Mack worked a walk to load the bases. A passed ball would score Waldrop for the Travs first tally. Then with two out Joey Wong doubled home two more to put the Travs in front to stay. Tulsa starter Isaac Anderson was charged with all three runs and took the loss falling to 0-3 on the season. Waldrop finished the night with two hits while Wong had the two runs batted in.
Game three of the series is a late afternoon contest on Wednesday with first pitch set for 4:05. Right-hander Tyler Herb (0-1, 4.91) gets the ball for Arkansas against lefty Colt Hynes (2-0, 2.70) for Tulsa. The game will be broadcast on the Sports Animal 920, the First Pitch App, TuneIn radio and milb.tv.
