Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Michael Russell's walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth inning gave the Biscuits their tenth win of the season, 3-2, over the Mississippi Braves (8-10) Monday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Montgomery starter Hunter Wood went six and two thirds innings giving up two runs on five hits and striking out seven in a no-decision, while Mississippi starter Matt Withrow went five innings, surrendering two runs on two hits.

The Biscuits got on the board first thanks to Justin Williams' third home run of the season, an opposite field shot that gave Montgomery a 1-0 lead in the first. The Biscuits would add another run in the fourth on a sac fly to center by Justin O'Conner to double their lead.

Montgomery rolled through the next two innings with ease, but momentum would quickly shift when Adam Walker hit a monster two-run shot to right to tie the game at two in the seventh.

After neither team could find a run in the next two innings the game would head to extras where Russell took the first pitch he saw from Michael Mader (0-1) over the left field fence for the Biscuits first walk-off win of the season.

Montgomery will continue their home stand Tuesday morning when right-hander Jose Mujica (0-0) takes the hill against left-hander Max Fried (0-2) at 10:35 am.
